FAMOUS BEACHES AT BRUNEI-MUARA

Stretching the full length of Brunei's coastline is a pale, sun-warmed ribbon of sand caressed by the South China Sea and some of the top beaches in Brunei are located at the Muara area. Whether skirting the foot of ochre cliffs inhabited by flocks of brightly colored bee-eaters or fringing shadowy stretches of tropical palm and casuarina forest, Brunei's beaches are accessible and popular. The beaches in Brunei is filled with smooth sand and clear waters whereby travelers from all over the globe come here for a relaxing weekend.

 

Less than 27 kilometers from Bandar Seri Begawan's town centre, Muara Beach is known for its long, quiet esplanade that invites leisurely strolling and is an ideal family outing destination. Amenities here include a well-equipped picnic area, a children's playground, changing and toilet facilities and weekend food and drink stalls. Near the junction to Jalan Meragang off the highway to Muara lies Meragang Beach which sometimes called Crocodile Beach. Despite the name, you will encounter no such creature along this peaceful, unspoilt stretch of sand but only a soft sea breeze and a brilliant sunset.

 

A mere 10-minute drive from Muara, lively Serasa Beach is a magnet for water sports enthusiasts. The Serasa Water Sports Complex provides comprehensive facilities for both recreational and sports activities to international competition level including jet-skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, regatta sailing, power boat racing, aqua sports training and water skiing. Tourists will definitely enjoy the various activities found at any of the beach here in Brunei.
