The importance of
Brunei's diverse environmental inheritance is
reflected in the gazetting of wilderness areas
such as the 199 hectares Berakas Forestry Recreation
Park, situated along the Muara-Tutong Highway
which is just 10 kilometers from Bandar Seri Begawan,
in the Berakas Area.
Here at the Berakas
Park you can witness the sun-dappled
pathways meander past sheltered picnic spots and
barbeque facilities towards the soaring
observation tower, and the tang of salt air
hovers in the shadowy green keranga and
casuarina forest that tumbles to the edge of the
nearby South China Sea.
