Across the street
from the Regalia Building and the History Centre
is the Lapau, the ceremonial hall where royal
ceremonies are traditionally held. It was here,
beneath the interior's exquisite golden-domed
ceiling, that the present Sultan was crowned on
the first of August 1968. Adjoining the Lapau is
the Dewan Majlis, or Parliament House. Official
permission is required to enter the Lapau.
