Photo: The Batu Apoi Forest Reserve in Temburong
District
Separated from the
rest of the nation by Brunei Bay and a sliver of
Sarawakian territory, Temburong hovers to the
northwest of Bandar Seri Begawan, beckoning
visitors to take the short step into another
world with the Ulu Temburong National Park as
one of the main tourist attractions in Temburong.
During your river
journey to Bangar, which is Temburong District's
main town, keep watch for monkeys in the
mangroves and monitor lizards basking in the sun
at low tide. Although a few patches of land are
cultivated by resident Malays, Murut and Iban,
virgin rainforest flourishes across the greater
part of Temburong whereby the famous places of
interest in Temburong are its scenic marvels catering
mostly for nature lovers and are virtually unlimited.
