The Seri Kenangan
Beach (Pantai Seri Kenangan)
which literally means the 'unforgettable beach' is
located in
Kuala Tutong. A popular recreation area just a
5-minute drive from Tutong, the beach's appeal
is the magical effect created by a narrow spit
of land that separates the mirror-smooth Tutong
River from the broad, ruffled waters of the
South China Sea. Chalets, restaurants, huts, a
playground and food stalls are also available.
A little further
along, the road passes the village of Kuala
Tutong, charmingly sheltered amidst its forest
of coconut palms, to reach the old jetty. Until
the Tutong Bridge was constructed in 1959, a
ferry had to be used to travel between the
southern district centres of Brunei and Bandar
Seri Begawan.
