Photo: Preah Neak Pean in Jayatataka
Built during the
time of Jayavarman VII, the design of Neak
Pean is unique in the sense that it is design
with a central tower set in a square pool and
with four smaller pools seen symmetrically
around the centre. Neak Pean is a man-made
island in which a Buddhist temple is housed here
at the middle of Jayatataka, also known as the
Baray of Preah Khan. Nearby temples include
Prasat Krol Ko and Ta Som.
