Koh Kong is a province in Cambodia located southwest of Phnom Penh. Mountains dominate this area but the famous tourist attractions in Koh Kong are its two hundred kilometers stretch of beautiful beaches and over twenty beautiful islands located in the Gulf of Thailand. Its capital city is Krong Koh Kong.

There are a few scenic waterfalls here with Ta Tai Waterfall and Koh Poi Waterfall as the main waterfalls whereby these are among the many places of interest in Koh Kong. Other activities that you may indulged in while you are here include trekking in its rainforest or go fishing. It is important to know that the better beaches are located on the western end of Koh Kong Island. The abundance of natural resources here provides the residents here with a constant source of income and this place is also famous for its local handicraft called klum (incense oil).

There are a few transportation methods of getting to Koh Kong. There is a direct flight to Koh Kong from Phnom Penh or you may choose to travel by sea from Sihanoukville using a fast boat. If you are coming in from Thailand, you have to get a visa on arrival at the Cham Yem International Border Checkpoint. There are more visitors making day trips to Koh Kong now since the opening of the new bridge which allows tourists to drive from Thailand to Phnom Penh.
