The monument commemorates the end of the France-ruled Cambodia's regime in 1953. The Naga motif, which totals one hundred, can be seen in historic, cultural and modern business contexts, as a symbol of the country. It is also used to commemorate the soul of combatants who laid  down their lives for freedom of the country and now has become a tourist attraction.
