Ratanakiri, located northeast of Cambodia, is a province in Cambodia known for its eco-tourism and its red earth lines roads. It is home to a diversity of natural attractions whereby some of the famous tourist attractions in Ratanakiri are its spectacular lakes, waterfalls and the beautiful Virachey National Park. The place to stop and rest overnight is at Banlung, the provincial capital city of Ratanakiri which is located about six hundred and forty kilometers northeast of Phnom Penh. The scenery in this remote area is awesome whereby Yak Laom Lake is regarded as one of the famous places of interest in Ratanakiri.

This lake is a small but lightly scenic crater lake of an extinct volcano situated amid lush forest. Locals come here to swim and picnic. For tourists who enjoy trekking, then visit the Virachey National Park as guesthouses nearby can arrange some walking itinerary for you.
