Lolei was built by King Yasovarman I at the end of the 9th century and this temple was dedicated to Hinduism and it is located at the northern end of the Roluos group of temples. It is one of the most beautiful island temple ever built in this region of Indratataka (Baray of Hariharalaya) which is now dry. Nearby places of interest here are Preah Ko, Bakong and Prasat Prei Monti which is in the Roluos Group (formerly Hariharalaya).
