West Baray, the largest baray in Angkor, was built by King Udayadityavarman II in 1060 AD. The West Baray is a vast man-made lake (2 km by 8 km) and slightly larger than East Baray. Photos taking opportunities are plenty over here and the scenery is fantastic. Most people come here for the beautiful scenery. Among the many attractions here are Phnom Rung, Prasat Roluos, Prasat Trapeang Seng, Prasat Prei Kmeng, Prasat Ak Yum, Prasat Kas Ho, Prasat Ta Noreay. West Mebon is located in the middle of West Baray.
