On the eastern side of the former residence of Lu Xun, the Lu Xun Museum was open to the public in 1956. Lu Xun, born in 1881 in a small town called Shaoxing, is one of the greatest 20th century Chinese writers whereby most of his work are based upon the lives of the poor ordinary people living in China and one of his well known literary works is the Madman's Diary. In this museum, Lu Xun's manuscripts, photos, books, magazines, art works and other objects are on display in the exhibition hall.

 

Opening times: 9.00am to 4.00pm (except on Monday)

Admission: 5 yuan

 

Location: No. 19, Gongmenkou Ertiao, Fuchengmennei, Xicheng District, Beijing

Transport: Visitors may get on bus Nos. 13, 25, 44, 101, 102, 103 and 121. Visitors may also take the subway and get off at Fuchengmen.
