YUELU MOUNTAIN IN CHANGSHA

Yuelu Mountain, located on the western bank of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, is a scenic zone covering an area of 5.53 million square meters and has a highest peak of 300 meters above sea level. Yuelu Mountain contains deep and serene gorges, tall and elegant peaks, lushly growing trees and stunning scenery. Among its places of interest are the Yuelu Academy, Yuelu Temple which is a stupa built during the Sui Dynasty (581-618), Yuelu Palace, the King Yu Tablet and Aiwan Pavilion. Other tourist attractions in this region are the Bottom of the High Mountain Park (Yuelu Gongyuan) and the Hunan University.

 

Admission: 15 yuan; 20 yuan for the Birds Singing Forest

 

Transport: Visitors may get on bus No. 106, 202 or 305 to get there.
