By Air

 

The Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is only 23 kilometers from the city of Chongqing. It is located in Shaping Town in Yubei District in the northeast of the city. Tourists will be glad to know that there are shuttle bus service that runs between the ticket office and the airport which are times according to flights. An expressway goes directly from the city to the airport. Scheduled flights flies regularly from Chongqing to 27 large and medium-sized cities in China and also to countries like Japan and Thailand.

 

 

By Rail

 

The Chongqing Railway Station is Chongqing Municipality's passenger transport center with three main railways meeting here. They are the Sichuan-Guizhou, Chengdu-Chongqing and Xiangfan-Chongqing railways.

 

 

By Sea

 

With regards to water transportation, the Chongqing Passenger Wharf is located at Chaotianmen at the eastern end of Yuzhong District, where the Yangtze River meets the Jialing River. The wharf is the best starting spot to take a boat tour of the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River. Convenient transport facilities can be found at Chongqing Port and it can be reached by bus Nos. 102, 103, 128, 232, 382, 401 and 418.

 

 

By Urban Traffic Facilities  

 

Public buses

One of the more common types of transportation in Chongqing is to travel using the Urban Traffic Facilities. The urban transport in Chongqing is very advanced with several dozens of public buses and trolley buses running in the city daily and the suburban areas from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm. In recent years, Chongqing has operated mini buses, air-conditioned buses and round-the-city tourist buses, and rush-hour buses to provide convenience to passengers. Buses tend to be packed in Chongqing since the residents here do not use bicycles here.

 

Taxis

Touring the city by taxi is also convenient. In Chongqing, Santana taxis charges 1.6 yuan per kilometer.
