The Starry Sea
Square, with an area of 1.1 million square meters, is the
largest city square in Asia. It was first built
to commemorate the return of Hong Kong. The
largest white marble ornamental column in China
is found in the middle of the Starry Sea Square.
Also found circling the square is a large music
fountain. Walking 500 meters from the center of the
square to the north will take you to the
Exhibition and Convention Center while you will
reach the blue sea if you walk 500 meters to the
south. The Central Road in the square is paved
with red bricks and flanked by green grasses.
Transport:
Visitors may get on trolley bus Nos. 23 and 202
or bus Nos. 16, 28, 406, 711 and 801. Visitors
will then have to get down at the Exhibition and
Convention Center bus stop.
