tourists. It is important to note that there is
no shuttle bus service from Datong to the
Taiyuan Wusu Airport but there are other types
of transport in Datong that can get you there.

By Rail
The railway
transportation system in Datong is relatively
well developed whereby tourists can travel from
Datong to Beijing, Taiyuan, Xi'an, Yinchuan,
Shijiazhuang, Baotou, Shenyang and other cities
in the country by train. It would be useful for
tourists to know that the train line to Beijing
and another train line to Inner and Outer
Mongolia meet in a Y-junction at Datong. The
trans-Siberian trains via Ulaan Baatar also
passes through Datong.

Public buses
There are basically
two bus stations found here in Datong. The older
bus station which is also known as the north
station is located near the train station. The
newer one is found at Yantong Xilu. Departures
begin from the new bus station and pass by the
old bus station before continuing its journey.
