YUEXIU PARK IN GUANGZHOU

Occupying an area of 920,000 square meters, Yuexiu Park (Yuexiu Gongyuan) is the largest park in Guangzhou with a large number of trees and flowers. Also seen here are a few artificial lakes and a big swimming pool. Every year, the Spring Welcoming Flower Fair is held here in spring and the Chrysanthemum Exhibition in autumn. In this famous park in Guangzhou, tourists can find a large stadium which can accommodate more than 30,000 people, the symbol of Guangzhou - the Stone Sculpture of Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower (Five Storey Pagoda), Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Tablet and the ancient city walls built in the Ming Dynasty. The Zhenhai Tower now houses the City Museum which displays items from the Neolithic times to the 20th century.
