RAIN AND FLOWER TERRACE SCENIC AND HISTORIC INTEREST ZONE IN NANJING

The Rain and Flower Terrace Scenic and Historic Interest Zone is outside the Zhonghuamen in Nanjing. Covering an area of 1.537 million square meters, the Rain and Flower Terrace Scenic Zone comprised of six major parts which are the Cemetery for Martyrs, Scenic and Historic Interest Zone, Rain and Flower Stone Cultural Zone, Rain and Flower Tea Culture Zone, Recreation Zone and Ecological Holiday Resort. The Martyr's Cemetery used to be a Kuomintang's execution grounds which was made into a garden dedicated to revolutionaries who died there.

 

In recent years, over 10 places of scenic and cultural interest have been built such as the Rain and Flower Pavilion, Shrine to Two Loyal Officials, Sweet Dew Well, Rain and Flower Fountain, Emperor Qianlong's Imperial Tablet Pavilion, Sweet Scented Osmanthus Garden and many more. Now it is a national scenic and historic interest zone integrating education, tourism, leisure and service.
