This specially designed tourism city exhibits numerous shops that have been linked together to resemble a street and the surrounding houses depicts magnificent southern China style architecture. Located on the southwest area of Shanghai, this restored temple complex is said to date from the 10th century. The Longhua Temple, which is best known as the oldest and largest temple in Shanghai, has been preserved to portray the original appearance of a Buddhist temple from the Song Dynasty. Visitors will be awed by exhibits such as the Buddhist scriptures, gold seals and Buddha statues dating back to the Tang, Five Dynasties, Ming and Qing periods found inside this remarkable temple. This place is packed with people during every New Year's Eve as the temple bell will be struck to usher in the New Year

 

Opening times: 7.00am to 4.30pm

Admission: 5 yuan.
