It is very hard not to notice the unique design of the Shanghai Museum in Shanghai since this tourist attraction is built in the shape of an ancient Chinese ding vessel in 1994 at a cost of 570 million yuan. Located at the People's Square at 201 Renmin Dadao, this comprehensive art museum houses 123,000 cultural relics and features bronze ware, calligraphy, ceramics, Chinese paintings, coins, jade, Ming and Qing furniture and seals. Some of the more popular galleries include the archaic green patina of the Ancient Chinese Bronze Gallery, the Chinese Sculpture Gallery, Zande Lou Gallery and the Chinese Calligraphy Gallery. This museum in Shanghai is definitely a must visit place for all tourists as it will slowly take you through the pages of Chinese history.
