The most well known street to see the historical and cultural influences from the Ming and Qing dynasties blending nicely with modern western influences is at Fangbang Zhong Road. More popularly known as the Shanghai Old Street in Shanghai, visitors will be kept occupied throughout the day at this 825 meters long bustling street filled with intriguing sights, great shopping opportunities and plenty of entertainment in this part of the old town.

 

This tourists packed area is located adjacent to the Yu Gardens Bazaar and it is definitely the place shop for gifts to take home to your home country since this street is full of antique and souvenir shops. The Temple of the Town Gods (Chenghuang Miao) located here is packed with devotees everyday. Town Gods Temple is one of the famous temples in this ancient section of Shanghai.
