When choosing to buy a digital camera
before traveling, an important aspect to consider is with regards to
exposure. The correct type of camera exposures in digital cameras is vital
in determining the types of pictures that will turn up. Exposure is the amount of light used when taking pictures.
Too much light (overexposure) will make a picture look washed out
and too little light (underexposure) will make a picture look dark.
Exposure is determined by a combination of shutter speed, aperture
(lens opening) and light sensitivity (ISO). Although all digital
cameras have an automatic exposure mode to take care of things but
this does not guarantee a perfect exposure all the time. Most
digital cameras will give you a choice of factory pre-programmed
exposure setting like portrait, scenery and sunset. You are
encouraged to buy a camera with a semi-automatic or manual modes if
you want to take it to the next level and tweak the settings
yourself. Learning to master camera exposure will take you a long
way in dealing with cameras. |
