Image Stabilization In Digital Cameras

Also known as vibration reduction, image stabilization was originally developed for video cameras. Its main purpose is to prevent pictures from getting blurred because of camera shake or slow shutter speed. This technology is extremely useful when using long telephoto optical lenses (ten times or more) or shooting subjects in low light situations. If you plan on getting a camera with a big optical zoom or thinking of adding on telephoto lenses, it is advisable to make sure it has this quality.
