How to get to Hong Kong Disneyland? What are the types of transportation to Hong Kong Disneyland? There are many easy ways and cheap transport to get to Hong Kong Disneyland. Before getting to Hong Kong Disneyland, visitors will be happy to find out that there are a number of convenient ways of getting transport to Hong Kong Disneyland which is located on Lantau Island, the largest outlying island in Hong Kong that is almost twice the size of Hong Kong Island. Known for its Giant Buddha and Po Lin Monastery, this new kid on the block will no doubt add to the popularity of Lantau Island as a major tourist destination and the transportation system in Lantau Island is excellent.

 

To get to Hong Kong Disneyland, visitors are able to get directions and information from the friendly staff at the Disneyland Public Transport Interchange which serves as the arrival point for visitors traveling by the Mass Transit Railway (MTR), bus, car, coach or taxi. Guide maps are provided and specially designed waiting areas for wheelchair passengers are built for the convenience of disability travelers together with tactile maps and tactile guide paths. Also, for the convenience of passengers with special needs, taxi pick-up and drop off areas are being provided for the disability passengers.

 

Specially Designed Train Traveling to Hong Kong DisneylandOne of the preferred transportations method is traveling by the Disneyland Resort Line whereby visitors can travel on the MTR Tung Chung line to the Sunny Bay Station, then continue to the Disneyland Resort Station whereby it is only ten minutes from the Hong Kong International Airport, about twenty minutes from Kowloon Station and not more than twenty-five minutes from Hong Kong Station. The seats on the trains have soft blue upholstery instead of the regular boring metallic bench seats. The shape of the windows represent the facial silhouettes of Disney's most popular character, Mickey Mouse and the handles inside the trains are designed in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head. But the children's favorite are the miniature statues of Disney's best-known animation characters which are displayed in see-through case in every compartment. The Disneyland Resort Station was built to resemble an early 20th century European railway station whereby it is equipped with Victorian-style lamp posts and clocks lining the platform.

 

For those who are traveling to the Disneyland Public Transport Interchange by road, ample parking spaces are provided for buses, cars and coaches and visitors who wants to enjoy the scenic ocean view, the ferry service is recommended whereby it takes only fifteen minutes to walk  from the ferry pier along the Park Promenade which connects the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel with the ferry pier and the Disneyland Resort Public Transportation. Free resort shuttles are being provided for hotel guests free of charge from the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Hollywood Hotel to the Disneyland Resort Public Transport Interchange.

 

Another convenient and direct way to Hong Kong Disneyland is to use the Citybus Express Routes. Among the Citybus Hong Kong Disneyland Routes are from the North Point Ferry Pier route (R11) which travels through Fortress Hill, Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Central and Sheung Wan, or from Hung Hom (Laguna Verde) route (R21) which passes Tsim Sha Tsui, Jordan, Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok, or the Yau Tong route (R22) which travels along Kwun Tong, Kowloon Bay, San Po Kong, To Kwa Wan and Jordan. The Citybus Hong Kong Disneyland Circular Routes connects Disneyland to Lantau Link Toll Plaza (R8) and also to Inspiration Lake (R8A). To get a discount on these rides, payment should be made using the Octopus Card.
