Applying
aromatherapy in your daily life is not as hard
as it seems since you can use aromatherapy in
your everyday hair care and skin care. You can
easily include aromatherapy in your everyday
cleansing routines by adding a few drops of
essential oils to unscented shampoos, conditioners,
lotions and cleansers to treat your hair or to
treat your skin. The appropriate oils can help
relieve dryness or oiliness in your skin treatment
or scalp treatment, assist in the regeneration
of skin cells, improve the circulation of blood
to your skin and improve the condition of your
hair.
Always choose
high-quality base products that is buy the ones
with no added fragrance for your hair treatment
or skin treatment. You can then add eight
to ten drops of essential oil per ounce of
product. Rose, jasmine, lavender and neroli are
recommended oils for normal or dry skin while
fennel, benzoin and cedarwood are suitable for
dry skin. Oily skin is best treated with
juniper, patchouli, peppermint, tea tree and
ylang ylang. With regards to aging skin,
try to use myrrh and helichrysum and when
dealing with sensitive skin, use chamomile,
jasmine, rose or rosewood.
When applying on the
hair, people with oily hair have the most
varieties whereby they can try bergamot,
cypress, clary sage, juniper, pine, rosemary,
tea tree and lemon. Chamomile, lavender, and
rosemary can be used on dry hair. You can
also try a combination of the three while normal
hair needs lavender, chamomile, thyme and ylang
ylang. For clearing up dandruff, tea tree,
cedarwood, rosemary or pine are added. Always
remember that you are not limited to essential
oils in prepared products because you can also
add your chosen varieties to jojoba oil for a
deep-conditioning treatment. You can use ten
drops in one ounce of jojoba oil and leave them
on your the hair overnight. If you find that not
possible, make sure it stays for at least half
an hour before you shampoo your hair.
