that Yumoto Choza, built using beams and boards
taken from local farmhouses and sake breweries, is located at the foot of the
northern Japanese Alps and the main attraction

Japanese hospitality. Catch a Express Train
Azusa ride from Tokyo to Matsumoto Station and
then take sixty minutes bus or taxi ride to
Fukuchi Onsen. Half of its thirty two rooms have
private irori. For those who love to BBQ, then
you are advised to book special rooms with an
open herath. Although only two
rooms here have private bathrooms, guests will
be happy to know that there are two large indoor
baths of hinoki, a type of Yumoto Choza in
Fukuchi Onsen Japanese cypress, and
two rotenburo. There are also two men's and
women's open-air baths located by the Hirayu
River and three family-sized baths. The best
time to visit is during winter because there
nothing more satisfying than soaking in a soothing hot
water bath during the cold season.
