Located in the highlands of Nasu, Sanraku was built in the 1920s and visitors come here to refresh and rejuvenate the mind through its hot spring water baths. Locals come here for an unforgettable Japanese spa session. To get here from the country's capital, Tokyo, it will take slightly less than eighty minutes to Nasu-Shiobara Station by Tohoku Shinkansen and then catch a cab to Sanraku. If traveling by road, then take a two hours drive from Nerima IC to Nasu IC by Tohoku-Jidosha-Do and then take a twenty minutes drive to Sanraku on Route 17.

The healing waters was first noticed when a wounded managed to cure itself after soaking its leg in the warm mineral-rich waters. Guests of Sanraku will be treated to an unforgettable outdoor bathing experience whereby the view is here is made up of beautiful Japanese maples. All thirty eight rooms here is designed in tea-ceremony style with graceful Japanese painting and ceramics as the background. When using the communal bath, it is important to give your body a simple washing with plain water before soaking yourself in the hot spring water. The best time to visit Sanraku is during Christmas and New Year with the Mount Jeans Ski Resort nearby. Other than coming here to enjoy a refreshing time and to cure body aches through a perfect Japanese spa experience, other activities which you could indulge in is to go sight seeing at tourists attractions such as the Country Club, Golf Garden, Monkey Park or visit the Teddy Bear Museum.
