Your trip will be worthwhile since Yagyu-no-Sho Onsen offers of the best Japanese spa in this region. This place is named as a tribute to Munenori Yagyu, an Edo kendo expert, who is respected for his bamboo swordsmanship and strategy and this onsen ryokan is now a famous spa inn in Japan.

 

So, it is no surprising that the guests here can enjoy a relaxing hot Photo: Yagyu-no-Sho Onsen       spring bath in an atmosphere surrounded by bamboos trees and also a hall  for kendo practice, known as a yagyu-kan in Japanese and you will also have the opportunity to savor Kyoto style Kaiseki (traditional Japanese) courses dishes which are specially prepared using the finest ingredients.

 

Built in a bamboo forest during the early 1970s, this House of the Yagyu, has sixteen rooms which is modeled in Sukiya teahouse-ceremony style surrounded by bamboo yards. The most sought after guest rooms are the two independent villas which have private open-air baths besides the normal rooms which all have private indoor baths of Japanese cypress, filled with hot-spring waters. The most satisfying time to totally enjoy this bath is during winter during a light snow fall. As with most onsen resorts, to cater for both men and women, there are two communal baths surrounded by green bamboo trees. For those who prefer to be inside the inn, there are two communal indoor onsen. The best time to come here is during May since the bamboo grove along the Katsura River is dotted with fuchsia and white azalea blossoms and the view itself will simply mesmerize you. Relaxing in the outdoor hot springs listening to the soothing sound of the waterfalls located in the natural forests will you a memorable weekend.
