TSUKIJI - TOKYO

TSUKIJI

JAPAN

Finding delicious food to eat in Tokyo is definitely not a problem as there are many good choices available here with many eating shops selling excellent cuisine . The most interesting though can be found at the Tsukiji Fish and Grocery Market whereby there are more then 450 types of shell-type seafood and fish traded by wholesalers.

A main attraction is to watch the tuna auction where huge and frozen tuna are unloaded from the docks, laid out on the ground and then being numbered. The auction begins as early as 5.15 am and after visiting the fish market, visitors can then enjoy the fresh sushi for breakfast at the Uogashi-Yokocho, a street lined with many small fish shops and restaurants. Located nearby is the tourist attraction of Hamarikyu Garden, a well-known garden with the characteristic of the Edo Period and the Tokugawa Shogunate.
