Tokyo, the capital

Home to twenty-five
percent of all Japanese is located here in the
Tokyo Metropolitan area with 12 million people
in Tokyo itself. Listed below are the many
tourist attractions and places of interest that
can be found in Tokyo. The Imperial Palace,
used to be called Edo Castle, is surrounded by
its original innermost moat. Beautiful gates and
old guard towers are set at intervals around the
grounds. The main entrance is approached by the
elegant Nijubashi or Double Bridge and will be
only open to the public on special occasions. At
the East Garden (Higashi Gyoen) is where the
original donjon once stood. Different types of
beautiful flowers and blossoms can be seen at
the garden for every season and it is definitely
an ideal place for people to come here for a
stroll and relax. Walking for about
ten minutes will take you to the Ginza district.
The Ginza district is well known for its
shopping and its bright, kaleidoscopic neon
lights. The famous Kabukiza Theatre is located

and Yurakucho districts, tourists will be
attracted to the spacious Ueno district whereby
the popular Ueno Park is located. It is the
largest park in the city. The park will change
into a paradise of delicate pale pink cherry
blossoms during early April whereby both local
and foreign tourists will flocked to this park
to view this magnificent scenery. This park
forms a great center of art and culture with its
many and varied museums which gives tourists
even more reason to come here.
The Asakusa district
is the place to catch a glimpse into Tokyo's
past. The many narrow back streets, lined with
old buildings and shops, sell traditional items
from kimono to hand-made combs. A great place to
buy souvenirs is at the Asakusa Kannon Temple
which is full of colorful shopping lanes. If you prefer the trendy west side, then head on to
Shinjuku which is home to the raucous
nightclubs. You can also discover
fine and sophisticated shopping as well as the
sedate Shinjuku Goyoen National Garden. There is
never a dull moment here. The

full-scale opera house is found in the nearby d Aoyama districts, is a
famous shopping and entertainment paradise among
the younger generation. It is over here at the
Shibuya where trend setting hub from which the
culture of youth is in continuous transmission.
The forefront of international art and fashion
is fully in evidence. Watching people from a
sidewalk cafe is both common and enjoyable.
Built
on reclaimed land in the Port of Tokyo is one of
Tokyo's hottest tourist's spots called the
Rainbow Town. This famous tourist attraction features an expansive shopping mall and the
exciting Joypolis amusement park and this place is always packed to
the fullest during the weekends. Its Ferris
wheels, one of the world's largest, is the
symbol of Rainbow Town and it is very popular
among young couples during the evening since it
gives a mesmerizing night view from its enclosed capsules thus creating
