OFFSHORE ISLANDS IN SERIBUAT ARCHIPELAGO

Johor is known for its many interesting and beautiful offshore islands. Located off the east coast of Johor, the Seribuat Archipelago is made up of many famous islands with accommodation facilities to suit tourists of all budget. Visitors coming here can indulge in sea sports such as diving, fishing, snorkeling and swimming. The top island destination here is Pulau Tioman which is usually reached from Mersing but smaller islands offer visitors a tranquil atmosphere. Other interesting islands found here include Pulau Besar, Pulau Rawa, Pulau Sibu, Pulau Tengah and Pulau Tinggi. Some other smaller islands which are allow great island hopping adventure in Johor include Pulau Kukus, Pulau Lima and Pulau Sibu Tengah.

 

Because of the popularity of these islands in Johor, more and more islands are being developed to cater for the high number of tourists coming here. Two new tourists attractions here are the Pulau Pemanggil and Pulau Aur which are opened specially for divers. Some of the uninhabited islands here are Pulau Gual, Pulau Harimau, Pulau Hujung and Pulau Mensirip. To get to these islands, tourists have to charter a boat from one of the many travel agencies located in Mersing. There are also boats which can be rented by visitors to go island hopping and the best time to come here for your vacation is during May until October when visibility is excellent.
