Kedah in Malaysia has some
very stunning beaches that are found among the Langkawi
islands but the most famous beach on the mainland is the
Pantai Merdeka (Merdeka Beach) which is located at the Kuala Muda
district. This tourist beach is about thirty kilometers
away from the Sungai Petani town or roughly forty
kilometers away from Butterworth, Penang.
This place is packed with
both locals and tourists because of its long, white
sandy beach. Stalls selling drinks and food are plenty
and it is definitely a good place to spend the weekend
here. Some historical artifacts can be seen at a nearby
cave. You can even join the island hopping tours to
nearby scenic islands such as Pulau Bidan, Pulau
Songsong and Pulau Telur.
