RICE GARDEN

KEDAH - NORTH OF MALAYSIA

Laman Padi (Rice Garden) which is located on the northern section of Pantai Cenang in Mukim Kedawang, is a place of interest in Langkawi where visitors can update their knowledge in all aspects of rice farming. Kedah, also known as the "Rice Bowl of Malaysia", is the most proper place to learn such knowledge since vast stretches of rice fields dominate its panoramic landscape and this is the reason that this Padi Museum (Paddy Museum) is located in this state. Tourists will be delighted with the chance given to them to learn more about the process involved in the cultivation of padi.

Tourists will be given the unique opportunity to have first-hand experience in learning the daily activities in the paddy fields and there are charts, photographs and artifacts in the museum as well to give them a better understanding. There is a roof top garden with fragrant padi plots and a rice farm for visitors to participate in padi planting activities. Other attractions found here at this tourist attraction are a herbal garden, souvenir and handicrafts stalls besides the interesting rice-based food demonstrations, festivals and theme exhibitions. This is the best place to learn about rice agriculture
