The Royal Museum, also known  as Muzium Diraja, is a very popular place of interest in Alor Setar, Kedah. This place used to be the royal palace and it is located just next to the Balai Besar. Visitors will find this place both interesting and fascinating. Some of the main exhibits that are found here include the regalia of the Kedah royal family and photographs and memorabilia of the first prime minister of Malaysia, Tunku Adbul Rahman Putra Al-Haj who was also a prince of the Kedah royal family. School excursions are regularly being organized to this museum to allow young Malaysian to see and learn more about their first prime minister. At the Astaka Hall sits various hunting trophies.

 

Opening times: 10.00am to 6.00pm daily

Close: Friday 12.00 pm to 3.00pm
