A famous tourist attraction
in Kedah is the childhood home and birthplace of Tun Dr. Mahathir
Mohamad who was regarded as the most outspoken prime
minister Malaysia ever had. This simple wooden house is
located at 18, Lorong Kilang Ais, Seberang Perak and it
is made from traditional but beautiful attap has now
been converted into a museum. Inside the
house you can see some rare historical memoirs and
unique memorabilia concerning the life of Malaysia's
famous and well respected fourth prime minister. Also on
displays are Dr. Mahathir's articles, which was
published in a major local newspaper under a pseudonym,
which gives an insight into his views on the Malay
culture and politics.
