Kuala Besar and Sabak Beach
in Kelantan are interesting places to visit to see and
learn more about the daily life of the Kelantanese
people. The traditional fishing villages seen here are
typical examples of the soul of the East Coast. The
sight at these villages are not something tourists can
see everyday at their own country.
Colorful fishing boats
(known as perahus) can be seen returning form their
daily catch and suddenly the beach comes alive with the
usual activity. You can see wholesalers bargaining with
the fishermen for their fishes. Fishermen themselves
will start cleaning their boats or mending their fishing
nets. Besides watching these unique events taking place,
there are camping facilities found here and visitors can
even scuba dive here.
