TUMPAT - KELANTAN

TUMPAT DISTRICT

KELANTAN - EAST COAST OF MALAYSIA

The Sultan Yahya Bridge in Kelantan, the longest bridge on the East Coast, takes you across to the district of Tumpat on the border of Thailand. This district is an important agricultural site in Kelantan with strong Thai influence.

There are scenic views of the countryside with traditional wooden houses built on stilts to beat the monsoon floods and paddy fields. Tumpat is a popular attraction since this is the place to shop for goods which are mostly brought across the border and this town is full of activities during the weekends and it is a highly recommended place to go shopping for souvenirs. Some places of interest here include the Pantai Seri Tujuh, Pengkalan Kubor and Wat Photivihan.
