One of the many interesting
places of interest located among the colonial district
of Kuala Lumpur is the Kuala Lumpur Textile Museum.
Located at the site of the old City Hall, this tourist
attraction showcases the rich heritage of Malaysia's
arts and crafts in textile which happens to be of very
high quality found in the Southeast Asia region.
This museum is located at
the junction of Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin and Lebuh Pasar
Besar which is within walking distance from the famous
Dataran Merdeka. Visitors are allowed to get a rare
insight into the art of batik making and weaving of
indigenous materials such as kain gerus, pua, songket
and telepuk. Some of the main exhibits seen here are
samples of textiles of historical value and current
fashions and designs.
