This
extremely unique blue-domed structure is situated atop a hill in Kuala
Lumpur Lake
Gardens. Its attractions include the space theatre which
screens space shows and movies and the two kinds of
shows screened here are the Space Science Show and Sky
Movie. In the main hall are permanent exhibits related
to space science. Among the exhibit is the Arianne IV space engine, one of the engines used to
launch MEASAT I, Malaysia's first satellite into space
and this is very popular among the locals.
Head towards the Observatory whereby on a full moon
night you
can see the heavenly bodies through the 14-inch
telescope and other attractions include the Space
Science Exhibition, Space Theatre, Resource Centre and
Viewing Gallery.

The planetarium extends to a space theme park
where replicas of ancient observatories are sited
which is called the Ancient Observatory Park. The
audiovisual science demonstrations and the IMAX films
are quite popular among the visitors. The planetarium is connected by an overhead pedestrian
bridge to the National Museum and this attraction is
also located near the National Mosque, National Museum,
Deer Park and Bird Park.
