Located thirteen
kilometers northeast of Kuala Lumpur, the
National Zoo houses some four thousand species
of animals, birds and reptiles, including the marine and
fresh-water life in the Aquarium whereby the native
Malaysian wildlife has always been the crowds'
favorite. Within the extensive
grounds is an area for sea lions where visitors can see
them being most active during feeding time. There also
train rides for children and performances by animals
such as elephants, birds, orang-utans and sea
lions are being held daily.
There are specially
designed areas whereby visitors are allowed to
take photographs with some of the tamer animals.
Elephants rides and pony rides are also popular
here. Spread over sixty three
hectares around a central lake and sited in the outskirts of the city,
it is a major tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur
and this place is always crowded during public
holidays and school holidays.
Opening times: 9.00am to
5.00pm Mondays to Saturdays
9.00am to
