RUMAH ABU SEMAN - KUALA LUMPUR

RUMAH PENGHULU ABU SEMAN

MALAYSIA

The heritage centre of the Badan Warisan (Heritage of Malaysia Trust) is located in a mock Tudor building dating from 1925. Visitors will see standing in the landscaped garden, a unique bamboo hut built by Orang Asli of the Temiar community  together with a restored Malay timber house known as the Rumah Penghulu. This traditional building was formerly the residence of a very famous local headman in Kedah named Abu Seman and such traditional structure is no longer built anymore in the modern days.

Not only it is beautifully decorated throughout with intricate carvings but it has been furnished to reflect a house in the early thirties with some wedding accoutrements whereby the uniqueness of this structure has become a popular tourist attraction. Walking inside this place will allow you to feel its charm and charisma. A guided tour and viewing of a video documentary of the restoration is available for those who wishes to learn more about this unique tourist place.

The centre hosts regular exhibitions with a heritage theme and has a gift shop and reference library and this popular attraction is located at 2, Jalan Stonor, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
