Although Labuan is better
known as a free port, an international offshore centre
and having Malaysia's only deep water anchorage, a major
tourist attraction located near the Tanjung
Kubong Tunnel is the Labuan Bird Park. Here, visitors
can see a large variety
of tropical birds from around the region such as
hornbills, kingfishers, sharmas, mynas, herons,
ostriches and peacocks. Daily performances by varieties
of birds are held daily and visitors are also given
opportunity to take photographs with some of the rare
birds from this region. The bird shows are the
children's favorite.
