Kampung Kling Mosque is one of the most recognizable landmark in Melaka due to its design which has a grand multi-tiered meru roof which are known to exist only in Hindu temples. Located in Chinatown in Melaka, the watch tower styled minaret which is part of this mosque is built under the Sumatran and Javanese influences since this structure is typical of most mosques in Sumatra. Also known as Masjid Kampung Kling, this mosque is the location of the Mandi Safar which is a bathing festival celebrated by the Muslims during the month of Safar.
