Driving from Teluk Bahang
heading towards northwest direction of Penang will take you to the
famous tourist attraction of the village of Balik Pulau. The hills of Balik Pulau
abound with plantations of clove and nutmeg trees during the fruit
seasons between November-January and in July. Visitors
too can savor
the king of all fruits, durian, a seasonal fruit which
is popular among the locals although tourists may find
the smell of durians unbearable. Malaysian hawker stalls are
also available selling local cuisines such as laksa and
satay and a few seafood
restaurants too have been open recently Photo: Balik

fruits orchards surrounding this hill and the many
