Located on Pesara King Edward and towering 60 feet high, the famous Penang Clock Tower was presented to this state by local millionaire Cheah Chen Eok in 1897 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria and other tourists attractions within walking distance are the Kapitan Keling Mosque, Kuan Yin Temple and the Penang Museum. Banking facilities can be found nearby and the General Post Office is also not too far away. Ferry facilities to Butterworth, boat trips to Langkawi and Pulau Payar and a tourist information office are located next to this heritage clock tower. This clock tower has now become one of the most recognizable structure in Penang.
