Penang Bridge in Penang, MalaysiaThe Penang Bridge, which links Penang island and the mainland was officially opened on the 15th September 1988. This spectacular bridge spans 13.5 kilometers across the channel, offering a beautiful view of the open sea, ships and the sprawling coastlines.

 

The main reason this famous bridge was built was because it reduces the traveling time taken between Penang island and the mainland. This famous tourist attraction in Penang is also the longest bridge in Southeast Asia.
