Ipoh Railway Station is a most imposing structure. Built in the 'British Raj' Moghul style with Moorish domes and turrets with modern embellishments, the process of building it began in 1914 and was completed in 1917. The size and magnificence of this train station and its hotel attest to the prosperity and importance of Ipoh at that time and is fondly known as the Taj Mahal of Ipoh. Now the Ipoh Railway Station is a famous tourist attraction in Perak.
