There is a water
village along the seafront known as Kampung Ayer
where the jetties are lined with pleasure,
fishing and commercial craft and throughout the
day, there seems to be non-stop activities being
carried from morning till night. This place of
interest in Sabah has a very famous Central Market
which is packed with people at all times.
The bustling Central
Market sits midway along the waterfront. The
fish market here teems with incredible marine
varieties. An early morning excursion will allow
you to catch the fishermen unloading their catch
directly onto market tables. All around them
Kadazan women display the fresh fruits and
vegetables brought down from the farms in the
foothills of Mount Kinabalu and visitors come
here daily to buy fresh meat and vegetables.
