In Kota Kinabalu this gold-domed Sabah state mosque (Masjid Negeri Sabah) is centrally positioned and overlooks most of the town. This place of interest in Sabah reflects contemporary Islamic architecture and can accommodates 5,000 worshippers. There is a special balcony with room for 500 women to pray. For a panoramic view of the city and its waterfront, go up to Signal Hill nearby. You will not miss this extravagant building since most tourists will likely to have stay or pass through Kota Kinabalu while vacationing here because this town is the main gateway to Sabah.
