The Forestry
Research Institute Malaysia Museum (FRIM), situated on the
sprawling grounds of the Forestry Research
Institute Malaysia at Kepong, is roughly about fifteen kilometers from the
city. The arboretum was established in 1952 with
the objective of collecting and displaying the
different varieties of tree species found in the
country. The Forest Museum is a main place of interest
in Selangor which serves to educate the public on
the rich forest heritage of Malaysia and
showcasing various exhibits on the
different species of woods, their uses and
products. Visitors will understand and learn
about the habitat of the trees and also the
importance of the preservation of these
tropical rainforest. Guided tours are available by prior
appointment and this place is also accessible
from Batu Caves. The landscaped ground provides
excellent scenery.
